shutter speed

  • Use shutter speed priority, set your camera to 'S' on the mode dial.
  • set the shutter speed to 1/125 of a second or higher.
  • constantly review your images as you take them and adjust the shutter speed accordingly.
  • if the image is to dark, use the flash, or use a lower shutter speed.
  • if the image is too bright or the image is still blurred use a higher shutter speed

Light Graffiti

Light graffiti is preformed by changing the camera's shutter speed to a longer duration in order to receive a blurred picture. Whilst performing light graffiti having low exposure is good so that not much light will enter the frame of the picture. I used a small torch to create the images which i made i found it easy to use to create images because of its size, it allowed me to create the freedom to make anything which larger torches wouldn't of allowed me to do.

Shutter Zoom

using this technique you simply have to zoom in and out whilst taking the picture but, it is much harder then it sounds as you have to master the timing of 1/25 sec or less.

Panning Shots

  • i was using a shutter priority mode and the shutter speed was 1/50th of a second. To do a panning shot the camera needs to move at the speed as the moving object whilst the shutter is pressed.

Blurred Motion

i put the camera in shutter prioty mode (TV) and dial in a low shutter speed of 1/25 second. I didnt use a tripod this time but if i was to do this again i would, so that the images would be very sharp.
